Not essays, but field notes — short, dated entries marking the slow work of building Sphereworld. A record kept honestly and without spoilers, so that the project's progress can be followed now and browsed years from now.

A place to keep the progress
Today this page goes up. The journal is for thinking out loud; this is for the short progress updates; proof of life; history of the project (to some degree). Will occasionally give draft length, but it’s not the focus. Beware of the Shadowwalker.

A finished Beginning
The first seven chapters (including the prologue) exist. Whether to call them first, second or third draft is sort of moot as often as I have read, reread and retuned them (as a matter of fact the very first version of the first three chapter was originally written in German). Current length of this “more or less completed” section is roughly 20.600 words, with individual chapters varying from 600 to 6000 words.

Something Substantial
Draft length passed 50k today. Feels substantial. Though much of this is in random scenes or errant storylines, the major stories swell by the week.
